We're Getting Married!

Ashlee and Charles (CJ) first met on November 6, 2016 in Atlanta, GA. Ashlee first caught CJ's eye on Instagram when he saw his friend post her for her birthday. He told him to reach out to her but they kept missing each other over the months to follow. CJ was also living in Ohio at the time and very busy. When CJ found a job back in Georgia, he had to celebrate for getting back home to his family, especially his daughter Kaylee. For his big celebration he reserved a section at club Eleven 45 for him and his friends. That night Ashlee decided to go out with their mutual friend to celebrate the big homecoming. It was there Ashlee and CJ met and talked the whole night. He kept promising that he would take her out for brunch the next day. Ashlee thought he wasn’t serious because he was slightly intoxicated and he didn’t even ask for her number, lol. She left that night with no numbers exchanged, so she thought he had completely forgot. That next morning she woke up to a message on Instagram from none other than CJ asking her for her number and if they could go out for dinner. They exchanged numbers and later that week went on their first date at Two Urban Licks. CJ was nervous when he first met her but he made her feel like the only girl in the world. Ever since that first date back in 2016 they have been inseparable.

The proposal was one that only a woman could dream of. It started with CJ asking Ashlee’s parents for her hand in marriage. They of course agreed. He began subtly sniffing out Ashlee’s taste in rings and found out what she liked. He had his personal jeweler design a stunning radiant cut diamond for Ashlee. He then began thinking of where and how he would pop the question. He wanted this proposal to the love of his life to be a timeless and special moment. As fate would have it, Ashlee and her college friend were planning a trip to Barcelona Spain in August. This WAS IT! CJ’s brain started working. He immediately started researching the area in search of the right place. He settled on the most beautiful area in the northeastern region of Spain called Costa Brava. It was here in a town called Blanes with a little garden by the name of Marimurtra nestled along the coast overlooking the Mediterranean Sea that he decided was the spot. It was a sunny bright day when they traveled north from Barcelona to Blanes to visit what Ashlee thought was a winery. Little did she know the stage had been set. There were photographers and videographers staged to capture the moment. As CJ and Ashlee made their way down the staircase in the garden to the temple overlooking the sea, their friends and family were all watching via zoom. CJ asked her to look out over the sea while they posed for a picture as he stood behind her. With the ring in his hand, he dropped to his knee and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with him….. The rest is history.
