How we met

Inioluwa: On February 10th, 2023, while preparing for a virtual meeting, I stumbled on a Facebook post. The author spoke about faith & matters of the kingdom. I was invested, so I went on to check her profile after my meeting. Unknown to me, she had been following my account some months before I bumped into that post. As the thoughts about her didn't leave, I started to pray and called those I'm accountable to, to pray along with me on the matter. I spoke with my siblings about it just so I could get their perspectives. I got positive feedback; apparently, one of my sisters had even been friends with her on Facebook long before. I eventually decided to make initial contact, but on a different platform from Facebook. I had prayed about it and was sure, so I got a response from her not long after. I believe it was prayers that made her respond, as she doesn't use Twitter(X) often. Two months after our first conversation on X, I decided to act on my convictions. I had prayed, fasted, and spoken with my father about her, and I was sure. So, I asked her to enter into a relationship with me. The rest, they say, is history. Now we're here. Titilayo: Knock knock! I opened the door, and he flashed me his brightest smile, asking, "Friends?" I paused for a second and thought, "Why not?" But then, I had this nagging feeling that it was more. I’m just being dramatic. 🤣🤣 Now, let me tell you the full story. It all started on February 12th, 2023. A tall, light-skinned, charming church boy slid into my DMs on Twitter (now X) after liking a few of my Facebook posts. He had such a smooth and sleek intro. Well, I couldn’t help but respond. And yep, he had my phone number—on the same day! 😂 Now, here’s the twist. I was Facebook friends with his sister, but we were more like distant Facebook acquaintances. You know, the kind where you just admire from afar because she’s beautiful. So, one day she reposted a picture of her brother in her branded T-shirt. Immediately, I thought, “Wait a minute, they look alike! I mean, they’re both FOOINEEE.” I checked out his profile, and to my pleasant surprise, it was filled with only Christian content. Like, a fine AND wholesome young man? Impressive! I couldn’t resist and sent him a friend request. At the time, though, I wasn’t looking for anything relationship-wise—I was getting over a breakup. But hey, he accepted my request. We didn’t talk—until he slid into my DMs on Twitter. At first, I kept my distance. But he wouldn’t stop sharing about his day. Slowly, I started opening up. What drew me to him was how softly spoken and open he was. He made it so easy to bond with him. Although he had my number from the start and we texted every day for a month. He didn’t rush to call me—talk about patience! He simply respected my space. In March, we met in person for the first time. By April 30th, after our second date—a fun bowling outing—he shyly asked me out. I said yes by June 24th—he ticked all my value boxes! We owe our journey to God, the ultimate matchmaker, and the Agape Love App that helped us bond. I also owe it to him (Inioluwa) for being patient. He consistently sent me love letters via mail with love songs attached to them and plenty of words of affirmation. He always showed up with a gift every time we met, no matter how small. Yes, he was that intentional! And then, on November 23rd, 2024, he popped the "will you marry me?" question. When you know, you know. I said yes without hesitation! It’s been a jolly ride, and I’m beyond excited to do life with him.
