We're getting married!

We often think about what God's perspective might have been on the day that we met in 6th grade. Maybe it was "How sweet it will be when they realize what I already know." Twelve years later, we are overjoyed by the gift we are receiving in one another from the hand of God.

The Sutton's Bay lake house is a special place to us. It's where we had our first first kiss, first "I love you", and the sweetest engagement! During my family's week at the lake this summer, Ty had to find a creative way to get me off the beach, so my family planned our annual family photos and dinner out. While we were all away at dinner, Ty's parents arrived with written instructions from Ty in hand to set up the beach for the best night of our lives to date. When we finished dinner out, my family got in one car and sent Ty and I on an errand in the other. They rushed home, my brothers hid in the bushes with their cameras, and Ty and I arrived back to the lake house eager to see the sunset. We walked around the house to the deck, and it was beautifully set up for the proposal with flowers, candles, and photos of us that told our story. He read the sweetest and most heartfelt words I'd ever heard, and then reached for the ring box I'd failed to see sitting on the table. Ty walked me down to the beach, got down on one knee, and proposed! I said the best "yes" of my life that night! We celebrated together, then celebrated with family in person and on face time, thanked the Lord for His good gift to us, tandem water skied, opened gifts, had dessert, and couldn't wipe the smiles off of our faces even if we tried! We are so excited to celebrate this covenant with you!
