Grant and I met at one of the most romantic places in the world, the Corner Bar and Rooftop Grill in College Station, Texas. While we were out enjoying the last couple of summer nights before the semester started, Grant came up to me and boldly asked the people I was talking to, "What are you doing talking to my girlfriend?". Thank goodness, I thought he was funny because I went along with it, and next thing we knew, it wasn't a joke anymore. Now we are so excited to be starting this wonderful next chapter of our lives and getting to celebrate it with all of our loved ones!
In March of 2025, Grant surprised me with the most unforgettable trip to Big Sky, Montana. On our third day there, he suggested we head into town and take a short hike to see a waterfall. But before we left, he insisted I get fully dressed for dinner — apparently, there wouldn’t be time to change later. So, there I was in my dinner outfit (definitely not hiking shoes) as we set off for the trail. We hiked — and slipped — down a snowy path surrounded by breathtaking scenery, until we reached the most picture-perfect, snow-covered bridge. That’s when Grant got down on one knee and gave the sweetest proposal speech — though neither of us can remember exactly what was said through all the nerves and excitement. What we do remember is it was the easiest, happiest yes ever! As if scripted by a movie, giant, fluffy snowflakes began falling — the biggest two Texans had ever seen — making the moment feel even more magical. We ended the day with a sleigh ride through the mountains to the most incredible dinner at the coziest little cottage, celebrating our engagement and soaking in every second of that perfect day.
