Google Flight Finder Hack

Another flight hack I’ve found is to -go to Google flights (I’ve linked below) -only input your “from” location, leave “destination” blank, -plug in your dates and -“search” -switch to “maps” -locate Costa Rica -locate the airport you want to use (San Jose or Liberia, Mark & I are flying into San Jose) -select that airport -many flight options come up MUCH cheaper than if you were to search for destination. Also look into one way flights and booking that way.

3-4 nights in La Fortuna (rainforest), 2-3 nights Beach town?!? Go for it!!

If you’re extending your stay, consider 3-4 nights La Fortuna (rainforest) and 2-3 nights at a beach town like Jaco (approx 1.5hr away from San Jose), or Manuel Antonio (approx 2.5- 3 hr drive from San Jose), to get the best of both worlds. Something else that we did and intend to do again is to get a hotel in San Jose the night before our departure. Less stress worrying about making our flight that way. If arriving in Costa Rica on a late flight and renting a car, you may also want to consider staying overnight in San Jose (it is a 2.5-3 hr drive from San Jose to La Fortuna).
