Second: Lodging FAQs and Information

The Wedding Website of Indya Weaver and Johnathan Hill
We are not reserving a hotel block. Instead, we recommend booking a vacation rental (Airbnb or VRBO) at Sapphire Beach, where we’ll be staying. Please book your vacation rental as soon as possible—March is a busy season in St. Thomas and homes will book quickly! You’re welcome to stay elsewhere, but note that transportation will only be provided from Sapphire Beach. We’ve included booking tips below to help you get started!
Question

Should I book my flight or vacation rental first?

Answer

We highly recommend booking your vacation rental first. March is a very popular time to visit St. Thomas, and homes near Sapphire Beach will book quickly. Flights are easier to find later, but great rentals go fast!

Question

Where can I find a vacation rental?

Answer

You can find vacation homes on VRBO.com or Airbnb.com. We suggest starting with VRBO, as it currently has more listings near Sapphire Beach.

Question

What location should I search for?

Answer

Sapphire Beach, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. You can also include: Crystal Cove and Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina. These are all condo-style vacation rentals in the same convenient area.

Question

What dates should I search for?

Answer

Our wedding weekend is: Friday, March 27 – Welcome Dinner (around 6 PM) and Saturday, March 28 – Wedding Ceremony & Reception. We recommend arriving by the 26th and staying through the 29th or longer to enjoy the island!

Question

How do I know if my rental is close enough to Sapphire Beach?

Answer

You want to be within walking distance of Sapphire Beach. Most listings on Airbnb and VRBO will show distance or mention proximity in the description. If a listing doesn’t say it’s near Sapphire Beach, we recommend looking for a different one, you may be too far away. Contact Wanda Weaver (7035013816) if you have any questions about booking.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to St. Thomas?

Answer

No passport needed! St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, so U.S. citizens can travel just like visiting any other U.S. destination. You’ll need a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (which will be required for domestic air travel starting May 2025). If your ID isn’t REAL ID-compliant, be sure to check TSA guidelines before flying.

Question

Is transportation provided during the weekend?

Answer

We will provide transportation to and from the wedding venue on March 28, but only from Sapphire Beach. You’ll need to arrange your own transportation to/from the airport and to the welcome dinner on March 27. The welcome dinner will be at a restaurant walking distance from the Sapphire Beach area. Taxis are widely available, and no rental car is required if you're staying in the Sapphire Beach area.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

You do not need to rent a car if you’re staying at or near Sapphire Beach. Taxis are easy to get and most places nearby are walkable. If you plan to explore the island more extensively before or after the wedding, you may consider renting a car.

Question

Can I share a rental with other guests?

Answer

Absolutely! Many of the condos near Sapphire Beach have 2–3 bedrooms and are great for sharing. Feel free to coordinate with other guests to split a rental it can save money and make your stay more fun.

Question

Is there anything to do nearby when we’re not at wedding events?

Answer

Yes! Sapphire Beach has beautiful views, snorkeling, and beachfront restaurants right outside your door. It’s also just a 5-minute taxi ride to Red Hook, a lively area with bars, restaurants, shops, and even ferry service to nearby islands. It’s a great spot to explore during downtime.

Question

Are kids allowed at the wedding events?

Answer

While we love and appreciate your children, all wedding events will be adults only. We hope this can be a fun getaway for you!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation or RSVP did not include a guest, we kindly ask that you attend solo. You're more than welcome to bring someone to enjoy the island with you, but only invited guests are included in the wedding events.

Question

If I can't make it, should I reach out to Indya or Johnathan?

Answer

No need to reach out, we completely understand! There's a lot of going on in the world, and your presence was never an obligation. We love you regardless (which is why you received an invite in the first place). Just please make sure to RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount.

Question

Will we receive more information closer to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! This is just the initial lodging and travel guidance to help you plan early. You will receive more details, including the full wedding schedule and event locations with our official invitations as we get closer to the big day.
