Anyone that knows Michael knows that he cannot keep a secret. Even for Christmas and birthdays we have to open presents as soon as they are delivered because he cannot contain his excitement, so I was especially surprised by what he was planning. It all began when I decided to take a day off from work for some self-care, you know, I get sleep in, get my favorite Starbucks coffee, and get my hair and nails done. In the meantime, before my “me day,” Michael was "planning" a trip for the next month to see my bestie, Helena, in Nashville. Turns out this trip was just a cover up to take all the attention off of this particular day, she was in on the secret of course. Helena and I were texting and sharing excitement about us coming to visit her in Nash. Michael was telling me what to pack, which was a super weird thing for him to do, because we were going to go out to a nice dinner. Now I’m really thinking “GEEZ, could he be any more obvious?!” So then, a few days before my glorified me day, he told me he had a work dinner that we needed to go to downtown at the Hu Hotel. My day comes, little did I know it was about to become OUR day.

My hair was cut, colored, and styled; my nails were freshly manicured; and I was dressed and ready to go meet all of Michael's co-workers. On the way there we even stopped to pick up Conner, one of his best friends who also worked with him, which made it even more believable. Michael went to all measures to make sure I had no idea what was about to happen. He paid for five hours of parking, told the front desk we were meeting his co-workers on the rooftop, & then BAM! We are walking to the edge of the balcony and he begins whispering, "I love you," in my ear as I am pushing him away thinking he is joking. This would not be out of character for him since he has fake proposed with a watch box before. But as I turn around, I see him down on one knee smiling his big smile up at me, with an actual ring in the box. HE DID IT!! Michael asked me to marry him! Afterwards, I started looking around wondering where his co-workers were and that is when he told me that is was ALL set up! He had my favorite Photographer/Videographer there to take pictures and record a moment we will cherish forever, who turned out to be hiding in the bathroom so I would not see her and spoil Michael's surprise. The day was absolutely perfect. The weather was amazing, the view was incredible, and to top it all off he planned a surprise engagement party at his mom's house for us to be surrounded by our friends and family. As all of the fake stories he made up to cover for the proposal kept becoming exposed, I could not believe all the thought he put into it, and the fact that he pulled it off! Michael truly outdid himself!
