Our story began in Dodge City, Kansas, where we were both part of the track team. Immanuel and I were proud wingmen and wingwomen to our mutual friends. After a few parties and hangouts, my friend helped Immanuel build the courage to ask for my number, which he did after referring to me as his “best friend” — a title I’m still a little salty about. The rest is history. We’ve been like peanut butter and jelly ever since. **Stephanie's First Impression of Immanuel:** When I first saw Immanuel, I thought he was the most handsome man. His perfect smile captivated me. I still remember he was wearing a grey Nike shirt with black sweatpants. It was a cold night in Dodge, and he walked me to my dorm building, refusing to let me fall asleep by asking me 99 questions while we waited for our friends to call it a night. The following day, my friend messaged him on social media to send him my contact information. Let’s just say I had to take the reins and make the first move for the first time ever—kind of. 😂 **Immanuel's First Impression of Stephanie:** When I first saw Stephanie, she walked in late to a track meeting, and I had to look her up on Instagram. I finally met her at a party and loved her personality and beautiful smile. After that, it was a wrap. As you can read above, we’re here now. 😎 We connected immediately; he was my home away from home when I first arrived in Dodge. I remember eating pizza and watching movies until the dorm curfew, going to church, and enjoying Buffalo Wild Wings on Sundays because I missed the food from Texas. He discovered my love for food and would take me on little trips to get our favorites—Wendy’s lemonade, blizzards at DQ, tacos, and Applebee's. A year later, Immanuel moved to Texas, and we’ve been inseparable since. I thank God for blessing me with such an amazing, God-centered man. During an unexpected time when we both hadn’t planned to pursue anyone, God gave us each other. Now we understand the phrase, “the best things happen when you least expect them.”
