Exactly 4 years ago, to the date of their wedding, Lillian and James first laid eyes on one another. Both just out of high school, Lillian accepted a summer position with the youth group James was a part of, and the time came for everyone to meet her. The two exchanged a hello for the very first time, and in Lilli's words, "I thought he was kind of full of himself" - an astute observation. However, unbeknownst to Lilli, it took no time at all for James to develop feelings for her. But with the thought of nearly 1,000 miles to separate the two once the summer ended, he tried his hardest to move past them. Never could they have imagined where this story would go. Freshman year of college saw the two exchange the occasional "hello" or "happy birthday" and not much beyond that. Though this new chapter of life began it brought many fresh and exciting experiences, James found himself unable to shake the thought that maybe, just maybe, Lillian and he were not finished with one another. A year and a half after the two's initial goodbye, they began speaking much more frequently which led to a phone call better reenacted than summarized: "Lilli, I've been sitting on this for a long time, and I don't think I'm doing either of us any good by holding it back: I have feelings for you." "Hmm. Well, I can't say I didn't see this coming. Let me think about it a little bit more." Needless to say, she decided that she also had feelings for him. From there, the two began navigating the waters of the fabled long-distance relationship which led to James asking for Lillian's hand in marriage on November 14th, 2020. This relationship owes many thanks to the love and support of friends and family, as the planning and cooperation involved with merely seeing one another can't be understated. Thank you for wanting to be a part of this wedding. Lillian and James absolutely cannot wait to get married and hope that you are equally as excited.
