If you asked us "when did you two first meet" we might give you a different answer depending on what you mean by "first." We technically met one day in freshman year of high school when Ilyse's friend introduced Joseph to their friend group (because he had a crush on the friend) which only lasted one day. Fast forward to senior year, where Joseph and Ilyse had 3 AP classes together, including first period AP STATS. They sat at the same table on the first day of school and continued to do so (just so Ilyse could get extra help on the group quizzes since Joseph was good at math). Then, the 3rd time they met would be after winter break when Joseph had cut his long, blond hair off and dyed it black which accentuated his green eyes. This, along with being competitive on a dumb trivia app, started their relationship together on February 16, 2015. They eventually selected the same college (SJSU), and dormed together their first year. And by "dormed together" we mean Joseph slept in Ilyse's room on her twin-sized bed for 10 months because his roommate had sleep apnea. Eventually, they moved into their own apartment together, got a cat together, finished their bachelors, went through COVID, got another cat, and started their careers as a K/1 teacher and PGE engineer.
