“We’re getting married!”

At SIUC freshman year, the couple were grouped on the same floor of the dorm. Ilya caught sight of Jaedyn and instantly was head over heels. Jaedyn on the other hand didn’t notice this at all. A few days later, Jaedyn got a text from an Ilya. With no profile photo, and with a roommate named Alexis, Jaedyn was thrilled to have found two new girls her and Grace could connect with. Ilya asked Jaedyn if she would like any cookies from Insomnia cookies, and Jaedyn loving food, said sure. About an hour or so later, she heard a knock at her door and a text from Ilya that the cookies were here! She instantly opened the door and… wide eyed and surprised, quickly grabbed the cookies and closed the door. Then, she hurried into Grace’s room and yelled, “Grace!!! It’s a guy!” Grace responded with eyebrows raised, “And he got you cookies? Jaedyn, I think this guy likes you… You should ask for more cookies!” Ilya, confused and disappointed, but patient and persistent, continued to check in with Jaedyn. They slowly became good friends. He even prayed and felt he heard God say to just be patient with her. That patience turned out to be true, Jaedyn started to fall in love, and the rest is history.
