FAQs

Question

What is the Ancient Spanish Monastery (Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux)?

Answer

This Monastery is the oldest European-built structure in the Western Hemisphere. The Monastery was built in Spain in 1141 AD, where Cistercian monks occupied it for over 700 years. In 1925, the structure was dismantled stone by stone and brought to the U.S., to be eventually rebuilt in North Miami.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 PM. We recommend arriving around 4:30 PM to allow time to park, enter the grounds, and find your seat. If you arrive a little late, don’t worry, you’re welcome to enjoy the gardens until cocktail hour begins!

Question

What time should I arrive for cocktail hour?

Answer

The ceremony is expected to end around 5:45 PM, so plan to join us right after for drinks, bites, and mingling!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress to impress! Our wedding is Formal or Black tie optional. We’d love for you to dress up with us! Think tuxedos or dark suits for men, and floor-length gowns or elegant long dresses for women.

Question

Is parking available?

Answer

We want you to have fun and get home safe. We suggest taking an Uber or Lyft ride (especially for guests staying at nearby hotels). However, if you decide to drive, there is plenty of parking in front of the Monastery.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Only the guest formally invited on your wedding invitation will be accommodated. If you received a plus one, they will appear when you RSVP.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, we’re keeping the celebration adults-only, with a few exceptions for immediate family and close friends. We hope you understand and can join us for a night off!
