Best Man
My name is Jackson and Jake has asked me to be his best man. I met Jake in Mrs. McCulley's class in third grade where I distinctly remember hating his choice of glasses. Glasses aside, we got along exceptionally well. Oftentimes we would get into rowdy football games or nerf wars with our other buddies. In our later years, Jake found other ways to smoke me, like in the gym. For those of you who know us, it may seem like our personalities are different. Jake is level-headed and shoots straight, and I have always had a knack for getting into crazy situations. Despite this, and most of the time because of this, I love my day one friend Jake and I am unbelievably proud that he has asked me to be his best man for this special day.

My name is Justin Marr, Jake's younger brother. I'm currently an undergraduate mechanical engineering student at UMass Lowell and have about two years left. Growing up, when we were kids I played the part of the annoying younger brother who would always test Jake's limits (as my younger brother duties), and I can say he's a pretty level-headed guy, or I wouldn't be writing this right now. Fast forward to the present, we get along great and I like when I get to hang out with him, except for when he shows me up at the gym. Seriously though, I can't believe how fast the time went by and even more so, I cannot describe how proud I am of my older brother. He's an amazing person and I know he's going to do great things, and I am excited to welcome Micah as a part of our family and see the life Jake and Micah create.

My name is Owen Marr, cousin to the groom. Out of the 5 Marr cousins I am by far the best and also the most humble. I am currently working for a General Contractor doing new residential construction and renovations. I have a year left for a civil engineering degree from UMass Lowell that I will be finishing fall of 2024. I am excited to see the life Jake and Micah will make for themselves and looking forward to the wedding. May the 4th be with you.

I first met Jake when we arrived at Norwich University in August of our freshman year. By chance, we were placed in the same company to train as freshman and earn our title as cadets. With our high performance as Rooks during freshman year, Jake and I were both selected to return to the company as Rook Corporals. This is when we became roommates, and our relationship took off. Really, Jake became my best friend. Also, this is where I heard about some girl named Micah. Whoever this girl was, Jake was head over heels for her. He taught me the meaning of true love and how to care for a woman. After sophomore year, Jake went to an upperclassmen company to take charge and lead as a junior. Although this time apart was tough because we didn’t see each other much, we still made sure to keep in contact throughout the year. Towards the end of our junior year, I hired Jake to come back into our original company from freshman and sophomore year. This relationship came full circle. At this point in my life, I feel the strongest connection and brotherhood to Jake than I have ever had. I am extremely honored to be a groomsman, and I am so happy for him and Micah. They are an incredible example of loving partners, and I think everyone who knows them should follow. Congratulations! David Lemoine

I first met Jake in 2019 at our acceptance ceremony for our nomination to West Point from Lori Trahan. I didn’t know it then, but we would end up in the same company at Norwich University as Rooks, and later roommates Junior year. It quickly became apparent that we were all but the same person, and we bonded immediately. It wasn’t long before I met Micah, and it was as apparent as ever that they were perfect for each other. Since then, we’ve done everything together at school and will be commissioning into the Army together as well. Early in senior year, I happened to find a small box in Jake’s desk at school. Ever oblivious, I opened it up and found an engagement ring. I immediately interrogated Jake about it, and he told me he planned on proposing soon. I was very excited for him. I am thrilled to be able to take part in Jake and Micah’s big day, and I couldn’t be happier for the both of them.
