We met online back in January of 2019, Erika wasn't ready to meet in person, so after exchanging phone numbers, we texted and talked on the phone until Late May when we eventually met in person. Our first meeting was Erika coming over to Jason's small upstairs apartment to hang out and watch a movie. Being the true gentleman he let her pick out the movie (from his small collection compared to hers) and was surprised at her choice of Ready Player One. For the second meeting Erika came over again and picked another movie, this time to Jason's surprise, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and he knew at that point that she was something extra special. For Erika, it was the unexpected non-pushy, completely on her time, that ultimately won her over. Not to mention Jason always knows how to make her smile even on her worst days. On Sunday July 7, 2019 after a long weekend camping with friends Erika stopped by Jason's place before heading home and with a smile said that she was all in. It was that night that Jason and Erika officially started dating, and yes, it was like high school, he asked "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Jason set up a photo shoot for him and Erika at the Dewitt Softball Complex on Saturday October 3 (Mean Girls Day =) One of Erika's million favorite movies) where he pulled out a home plate with 'Will you Marry Me?' written on it and had the ring in his back pocket . Afterwards, Jason had another surprise waiting, a small surprise engagement party at his sisters house where family and close friends were waiting to celebrate.
