We met in our senior year of High School in Forensic Science. Naturally we had mutual friends and ate lunch together almost every day. Always sharing jokes and going on little hangouts we decided to go to Prom together. Too scared to date before college we went our separate ways. One year later sharing photos from snapchat memories led to a "totally platonic" dinner date; where Zach shared he wanted to plan our honeymoon.

The pandemic was a rough time for everyone. We think it brought us closer and it finally let us stop being long distance. We got to be around our fur baby Pesto and were even able to bring home another one, Potato otherwise known as Pesto's bully.

Bent on continuing and establishing the tradition of experiencing the Trail of Lights, we headed to Austin for a mini trip. On arrival we walked the dogs and got them set up in the hotel when Zach insisted on going to get a drink. Not thinking much of it and extremely tired Iliah reluctantly went along for the ride. Arriving at Dazzle, a coffee shop in Round Rock, Zach once again demand that we order inside. Dazzle is a store that people don't go into, usually only using the drive through. As Iliah waited for Zach to open her door she rambled on and on about how her hands were "ashy" and that she needed to shave. When getting out of the car she turned around to Zach kneeling and asking for her hand in marriage. Dazzle is where Iliah and Zach used to skip school senior year, also the place where he almost asked her out but was too much of a chicken. To fix what he thought was a mistake, Zach decided to ask her to be his wife at the place he knew he wanted her in his life.
