In November 2022, Ileah—born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina—made her first trip to Memphis, Tennessee to attend the COGIC Holy Convocation. After a whirlwind day of travel and worship, she found a brief pause of peace on the grand lobby stairs, waiting for her Uber. Keven, a Coldwater, Mississippi native living in Memphis, was also at the midnight service. As he moved through the crowd, he noticed Ileah—poised, calm, and glowing with grace. He wasn’t planning to speak. But something—perhaps divine—urged him to turn back. With a kind smile, he gently said, “Hey, you must be tired.” She laughed, her eyes soft, and replied, “I am,” then shared a little about her day. A simple exchange. Instagram handles were swapped. A warm goodnight followed. It could’ve ended there—like so many fleeting moments. But this wasn’t just a moment. It was the beginning of something extraordinary. Before Ileah returned to North Carolina, Keven reached out. They met again, just once—no expectations. But from that day forward, not a single month passed without a flight: Keven to Raleigh or Ileah to Memphis. Their connection deepened, their bond grew, and love took root. Together, they built a rhythm around shared joys and new adventures: trying foods they’d never tasted, cheering from the end zone for the Dallas Cowboys, exploring vibrant cities, taking in concerts and Broadway shows. Every moment together was intentional, every experience a thread in the fabric of something beautiful. Then came a leap of faith. In January 2024, Ileah accepted a job in Memphis, trading her hometown for a new home—and a growing love. Keven welcomed her with open arms and a full heart, showing her the magic of Memphis, one sweet tradition at a time. From Grizzlies games to strolls downtown, the city became the canvas of their unfolding story. Exactly one year later, on New Year’s Day 2025, Keven brought everything full circle. At Perry’s Steakhouse in Nashville—the very first restaurant they dined at on their first date—he planned an intimate proposal and asked Ileah to be his forever. She said yes. Now, they’re preparing to say “I do” on September 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of their families, their friends, and the God who authored their story from the very beginning. From a midnight revival to a lifetime of love, Ileah and Keven’s journey is one of faith, intention, and divine alignment. And they’ve just started!
