Our wedding will begin at 2:00 PM with the Kabbalat Panim, a pre-ceremony reception where guests are invited to greet the bride and groom (who will be in separate rooms). There will be food and passed appetizers, similar to a traditional cocktail hour. Afterward, the Badeken (veiling ceremony) will take place in the same room as the Kabbalat Panim. During this moment, the bride’s father and future father-in-law will bless her, and the groom will place the veil over her face. At 3:00 PM, guests will head outdoors for the wedding ceremony under the chuppah (wedding canopy). During the ceremony, the bride will circle the groom seven times, blessings will be recited over wine, and the groom will place a ring on the bride’s finger. The ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) will be read aloud, and family and friends will be invited to offer traditional blessings. The ceremony will end with the groom breaking a glass, signaling the conclusion of the ceremony and the beginning of their married life. Dinner and dancing will immediately follow the ceremony.
