The love shared between Nicole and Igor has more than one beginning and it is an unbelievable tale to be heard and shared. The first part of the story begins in the summer of 2000 when they were kids, just 6 and 7 years old. The two families met through a mutual acquaintance and would spend many summer days by the barbeque and nights out on the town together. Little Nicole and Igor would spend hours playing in the backyard, making a mess in the basement, and chasing after the dog. Notably they would take a trip to the Bronx Zoo to see the monkeys and enjoy some onion rings and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in New York City to play dress up and take silly pictures. Little did they know, it would be these exact pictures that would bring back so many fond memories 20 years later. As time went on the two families lost touch. Into their 20s, Nicole and Igor had gone their separate way and forgotten about the childhood friendship they once had. With the pressure of her family to find a husband, Nicole searched far and wide through the many suitors on an online dating app called Hinge. Igor at the time in dental school was taking things slow. Feeling the same pressure from his family, decided to try his luck at online dating. After matching, Nicole and Igor instantly connected and planned their first date at a little Spanish tapas bars in Greenwich Village. It was as if they had known each other their entire lives. On their second date, Igor asked Nicole to be his girlfriend. They celebrated with homemade chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne on the beach listening to the waves through the night. A year later the two were living together in Igor’s apartment in the city. To escape from the stress of the pandemic, Nicole had found a little cabin in the Catskill Mountains for the two to get away. In the meantime, Igor’s father, Valera was going through old family photos to scan and preserve them. Once all the pictures were uploaded, he shared the album with Igor and his mother Polina. Looking over the photographs, Polina recognized the little girl in the wax museum but she could not remember her name. She pleaded with Igor to share the pictures with Nicole, as the little girl in the photo and Nicole shared a glaring resemblance. Overhearing the conversation, Nicole was instantly intrigued to find out what little girl not only looked like her but was wearing the very jacket that her mother had made her. Igor could not fathom that that little girl would turn out to be Nicole. As the story continued to unravel, leaving that cabin the two had now shared a bond only written about in fairytales. Nicole and Igor now live together in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with their dog Monty, 51 different houseplants and a love to experience everything the world has to offer together.
