We met at a local church we were both visiting in the fall of 2017. There was mutual interest, but we didn’t remember each other’s name or ever see each other again. Two years went by and (I) Lindsey ended up visiting that church again with a friend. Joe remembered me and sat next to me in Sunday School. We hit it off. But I left a bit disappointed that he didn’t asked for my number. A week later he asked a friend for it and asked me out. We had a great first date, but it ended in a disagreement. So I figured we’d never go out again. But low and behold, he called and asked me to Longwood Gardens. And who can say no to that? Between my busy work schedule and our 40-minute commute from each other, we snuck in a few more day trips and dates. We asked a thousand questions and overanalyzed the whole thing, and then took a leap of faith and just went for it in October 2019. We fell in love in the midst of long late night phone calls, remodeling Joe’s fixer upper and a pandemic. Besides our strong faith in God, we both share a love for family and friends, home remodeling projects, yardsaling, cooking and road trips. But we rarely agree on the temperature in the car, and how long it takes to get places. Early on February 20th, 2021, Joe told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and got down on one knee, twice. (Cause he was so excited he stood up before putting the ring on). And, of course, I said YES! We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!
