Our story begins way back in high school. One of us (guess who!) was the new kid, and let’s just say, not exactly thrilled to be there. Luckily, thanks to an amazing neighbor, we ended up hanging out with the same crew, which is how we first met. We were just friends—honestly, neither of us thought anything romantic was brewing. At least, that’s what we told ourselves (cue the dramatic eye roll)! Fast forward to 2020, when the world came to a standstill during the pandemic. One day, Uchenna uploaded a new profile picture on Facebook, and it caught someone’s attention (okay, you got us—it was definitely noticed!). A casual message was sent, and that innocent little “hey” kicked off something we never saw coming. Soon after, we hopped on FaceTime, and it was like talking to a whole new person. Hours passed as we laughed, caught up, and shared stories like long-lost friends. Over the next two years, we unknowingly built a rock-solid friendship—full of hilarious inside jokes, endless conversations, and all the things that make a great foundation. But somewhere along the way, feelings started to shift, and Uchenna (subtly or maybe not so subtly) started hinting at something more. We played it cool for a while, but by 2023, there was no denying it: this was our year. We both knew that this was more than just friendship. And now, here we are, celebrating #U&I25 and feeling like we’re living in our own rom-com. Who knew that high school friendship would lead to this amazing journey together?
