Iesha's Story It's 2020 Covid was hot on the block! The stymies' was blessing our accounts (the government issued all adults a stimulus check due to the global pandemic). It sounds like fluff but it's important.... I promise! Iesha (me) figured that I was going to apply to OT schools since I had free money plus those applications can run you about $150 each. But I digress. Way out west in da Rado (Colorado) my man Jeremy was applying also. Ironically enough we were both considering alternate degrees because of the application price (told you it was important ). By God's will we met in August 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska at the College of Saint Mary, as students of the Occupational Therapy Doctoral program. Initially we were just friends that would hangout in a group amongst other friends. I'd be lying if I said it was love at first sight! We had to wear masks, I didn't play about the 6 feet thing (CDC suggested people stayed 6ft away to avoid the spread of germs), plus we were there to work. I'm not sure what it was but once we started talking it took hell and high water for us to stop. I felt like I knew Jeremy my whole life and I wanted him to remain in my life forever. Jeremy's Story When I first met Iesha, there was an instant connection little did I know what it would turn into. As Iesha stated it was not love at first sight. We began our journey as friends who would hang out on occasion a lot of times studying and struggling through material together. During this period we would share laughs and get to know one another, realizing we have more in common than we thought. It quickly turned into a connection that I did not foresee myself having. It started out as just small side conversations turning into jokes and laughing and eventually exploring the world together. As I got to know Iesha , I was drawn her unrelenting smile, her morals, her humanity, and her straight forward no nonsense demeanor. Time went on and I eventually realized God placed my best friend and sole mate right in front of my eyes and I have not looked back sense.
