One cozy night in, Jacob planned the sweetest surprise, a paint night at home. He set up easels, canvases, and paint, telling Drew that they’d each paint something for the other, but the twist was: no peeking until both were done. Once finished, they’d take turns revealing their artwork and sharing the meaning behind it. Drew went first. She revealed a soft gradient background with the word constant painted across it, the first “t” shaped like a cross. It was her way of expressing how Jacob had been a steady, unwavering presence in her life, a reflection of God’s unchanging love. Then it was Jacob’s turn. He handed Drew his canvas but asked her not to look just yet. As he played one of their favorite songs, “Conversations in the Dark” by John Legend, he began reading a heartfelt letter he had written just for her.
