Will the reception be held outdoors?

Answer

No! We will be indoors at Fry's Spring Beach Club in the historic ballroom. Virginia summers can be hot, and the air conditioning at older buildings can't always keep up. We recommend that you dress light!

What is Fry's Spring Beach Club?

Answer

Established in 1921, Fry's Spring Beach Club is a unique blend of modern day life and yesteryear charm, offering members and their guests a summertime resort in the heart of Charlottesville. Our wedding reception will be held in the historic ballroom which harkens back to the days when young people learned how to Waltz and girls waited anxiously to fill their dance cards with the most eligible suitors. Nearly 100 years of foot-tapping have shown their wear and tear but that's what we love about it!

When is the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We will be married in a private ceremony on Saturday morning at a park in downtown Charlottesville in the presence of our immediate family. Celebrate with us for dinner and dancing Saturday evening at Fry's Spring Beach Club.

Are children invited to the reception?

Answer

Yes! Children are welcome to attend. If you would prefer to arrange childcare for some or all of the night, we are happy to put you in contact with several trustworthy and highly recommended babysitters. Ida has worked in childcare in Charlottesville for over 15 years and has built an extensive network of reliable babysitters in the area. We can even help coordinate the arrangements so that your children can play with other wedding guests' children on Saturday night before bed.
