2 years ago, on October 10th 2020, both Sam & Anna found themselves escaping Covid lockdown, in Florida, typically home to a much older community. Jenny (one of Anna's best friends & bridesmaids) whilst visiting Anna suggested hanging out with her colleague who was just down the road. - You guessed it, Sam! It seems, that day at the beach, too much sun and the salty air, left Sam & Anna away with the waves. Young, wild & free. Thank you Jenny.
This was a memorable date in the U.K for many reasons, one of the hottest days of the year on record, the Wimbledon final, and the day Sam & Anna got engaged. Sam wanting to go on a picnic whisked Anna away in her fathers classic car, up the hill looking out at the rolling Cotswold hills. Just the sound of the birds chirping, bees buzzing and the drone hovering. They cheers' over the hills with a non-alcoholic G&T to a beautiful day, and as Sam put his glass down, he knelt on one knee. Looking up at Anna, with a box in his hand, he confessed his love for her asking her to marry him. Anna confirmed that he had asked her father (being the gentleman that he is, Sam did) and Anna said "Yes". With a beaming smile and tear in her eye, he opened the handmade ring box and there sat the most beautiful, antique (circ. 1910) two tone, ring with a rough cut diamond. Simply stunning.
There is no doubt about it, Sam & Anna love to keep busy. Getting married, building a house, building out a van, rowing the pacific, AirBnB hosts, mom & dad to Iroh (their dog) & Miles (their cat), staying active, and all whilst maintaining their full time careers. It's tough at times, but they are undoubtedly, together, a true force of nature.
