We’re getting married!

Chimaobi and Ibilola met in August 2018 during Lola’s last semester at UT Arlington, which happened to be Moby’s first semester in graduate school there. Lola’s friend, Chidinma, who happens to be Moby’s younger sister, needed help moving and we all met up to help. When Lola first saw Moby, she actually didn’t like him. Moby came off as someone who was too serious about life and he didn’t smile much. Lola was the exact opposite. After the first few conversations at bible study, Lola knew she liked him, but of course she would never make it obvious *wink*. In an attempt to be sneaky, Lola got Moby’s number from his sister and reached out under the guise of “I need help with graduation gifts for your sister.” After a couple of months of small talk here and there, Lola and Moby went on their first date at IHOP. It was a few weeks after that first date that Moby told Lola “you know you’re going to be my wife right” to which Lola literally laughed out loud. The sound of that was absurd to her considering it was just the first date and they barely knew each other. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and before we knew it 5 years passed and now here we are celebrating #ForeverAzuonye. Now, let’s rewind back to August 2018 during the move. Lola and Moby helped carry a mini fridge from the car to the apartment and Lola ended up getting a cut on her arm which left a scar til this day. There will always be a reminder of the first day they met.
