Guadalajara is one of Mexico's biggest and most historic cities. It is also home to cutting edge cuisine, incredible mariachi, and tequila! Just to name a few of the many things that make Guadalajara so special. It also happens to be where half of Davíd's family is from. We are so excited to be spending this special weekend here with you! Please find below some of our favorite spots to check out while you are here.

Hospicio Cabañas

Museum: This beautiful 19th century complex was previously an orphanage and hospital that now houses modern & contemporary art. The architecture alone is worth a trip here.

Guadalajara Cathedral

10 Avenida Fray Antonio Alcalde, Guadalajara, Jal. 44100, Mexico

Site: This is a large Spanish Renaissance style Church located in the heart of Guadalajara, the Centro. This is great area to see the cities famous historic buildings.

Tlaquepaque

Tlaquepaque, Jal., Mexico

Neighborhood: On the outskirts of Guadalajara, this craft town is full of artisans, ceramicists, galleries, and shops. They are also known for a street filled with colorful umbrellas. Have lunch at Casa Luna while you're here!

Campomar Providencia

Restaurant: Incredible seafood in the neighborhood of Punto São Paulo, walking distance from Fiesta Americana Hotel. Perfect, fun lunch spot!

El Habanero Negro

Restaurant: Fun little casual taco spot close to Hotel Demetria & Casa Habita. Great food & margaritas!

La Docena

1491 São Paulo, Guadalajara, Jal. 44630, Mexico

Restaurant: Great dinner spot with incredible food. Everything from oysters to pan con tomate, steaks and more.

Tequila

Tequila, Jal., Mexico

Day Trip: The heart of that good good in our favorite cocktail, the margarita! The outskirts of the town are filled with beautiful fields of blue agave. In this lovely, quaint town, you can tour distilleries, taste incredible tequila, eat tacos, and wander the cobblestone streets.
