In early 2017, Ian and Will both signed on to work as staff at the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree. Will signed up to work security staff, while Ian was slated to work on EMS. Over the course of those two weeks in July 2017, Will and Ian became closer, though Will was persistent in fearing a relationship as he was preparing for his first year of college at IUB. Well, Will ultimately realized he did want a relationship—even with a 4-hour drive separating him and Ian between IL and IN. For the first 9 months of their relationship, Ian drove that 4-hour trip to visit Will, as Will didn’t have a car. On their visits together, Ian and Will enjoyed their time out shopping, seeing movies, or eating at Big Woods. Ultimately, Will was unable to attend his remaining years of school at IUB, so he transferred to IUN and moved back to Schererville, IN bringing the distance between him and Ian down to only 2.5 hours. From August 2018 to 2020, they’d enjoy celebrating holidays together, visiting pet stores in the Chicagoland area, or even simply having relaxed movie days. In September 2019, Ian moved into his own home in Toulon, IL. As Will continued his schooling at IUN, he became more eager to move in with Ian. This eagerness grew most when Ian proposed to Will on January 9. In May 2020, Will decided that he would leave IUN and move in with Ian in August. Since then, Will and Ian have continued home renovations as efforts to beautify the house before the wedding become more pressing. While Will works full time as a college student and a sales associate at a retail store, Ian continues his work at Stark County Ambulance and other part-time jobs. Amidst all their obligations, they continue to work on home renovations—still ensuring to make time for one another and their pets. As they prepare for this next chapter of their lives, they look forward to celebrating their marriage with all of you and are so grateful for all your love and support along the way!
