On May 4th, 2018 we both happened to be in the right place at the right time. A night out in Atlanta turned into so much more. Ian’s famous pick up lines and dance moves really won me over... and the rest is history! Summer 2018 holds so many of my favorite memories. Ian was currently living in Augusta, Georgia, but we spent every weekend together. This is the summer we fell in love. In December, we found out that Ian’s career was going to be moving him to Maryland. We knew this would be a challenge, but a challenge that we were ready to take on together. In March 2019, our relationship went from long distance to even longer distances, and we moved Ian to Baltimore. The next two years were full of FaceTime dates, plane rides, weekends in Philadelphia, concerts, sporting events, family vacations, and so many adventures that we knew we’d never forget. Ian and I made it a point to cherish every second we had together. We found that navigating long distance was hard, but not impossible. But then in March 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic made it even harder. We missed out on a lot of big events and time together. But we knew it would be worth it, and we had no doubt that our relationship would last through any curveball life threw at us. Looking back, all the time we spent apart only made us stronger, and we’re even more thankful for each other than ever. April 3rd, 2021 was the best day of my life so far. Ian proposed and I said ‘Yes’ to forever with the greatest guy I’ve ever known. He had been planning this day for a while with my family and my best friends. Ian loves to tell this story! I was running so late the morning of the proposal, and I even begged Ian to go ahead without me. 45 minutes late, but we made it to Piedmont Park—where he asked me to spend forever with him! Many of my best friends and family were waiting to celebrate with us after. I still feel so loved and lucky for how much thought, time, planning and love he put into that day to make it so special.
