Our Story

This is the story of Ian and Tasha

They have told themselves from the beginning, their relationship feels like a scene from a movie. A million little things had to go right, and wrong, for the stars to align so they could just meet, let alone fall in love. Ian is from a small town in New Jersey, and Tasha from a small town in Massachusetts. Who would have thought it would take a retirement golf community on the west coast of Florida for them to cross paths. The mother of the Bride, and the Grooms grandparents happen to be very close friends (and next store neighbors). That fateful weekend in March 2017, Tasha and Ian were both in Florida participating in a golf tournament where the two were introduced. Sparks flew throughout that first conversation and Tasha even admitted to telling her mother, Lydia, right away that she has a "huge crush on Ian". Who Knows, maybe Tasha saw how far Ian could hit a golf ball, maybe it was the fact they were the only two people under the age of 30 in the entire room, maybe it was just their mutual dashing good looks, or maybe something special was taking place. Ian asked her out for drinks later that night. As this would technically be their "first date" both of them agree that it didn't feel like a normal date, it had this sense of ease and something about it just felt right. The night turned into morning, with Ian and Tasha wishing the the weekend would never end. But it did. The two of them left with feelings of butterflies but also a sad realization that she lived in Boston, he in New Jersey, and maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Neither one of them wasn't going to let that happen, and from then on everything fell into place. Whether it was by plane, train, or car. they managed to see each other almost every weekend, from Boston to New Jersey, to Rockport, to Vermont, to Maine. Endless dinners, drinks, rounds of golf, time with friends and family, Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium visits, they knew almost instantly that this was it.

The Wedding

First comes a pandemic, then comes marriage

Fast forward to the year 2020, Ian and Tasha planned their wedding for 8/29/2020 in Gloucester, MA with 150 of their closest family and friends. Of course, 2020 was not the year for large gatherings. In shifting their mindset (only a few times...) , a week before the original date, Ian and Tasha felt like they really just wanted to get married. They quickly enlisted the help from the MOB and put together the most beautiful ceremony for September 12th. The weather was perfect, they married at their favorite beach, they built the arch they were married under, they celebrated with the people they love the most, they proclaimed their love to each other and to God. It was perfect. Although it wasn't what was originally planned with the large group they wanted, the intimacy and love that surrounded them on 9/12 was all they needed. Cheers to a lifetime of love!
