The Story Of How We Met

August 22, 2016

Tanya and Ian met on a warm afternoon in August. It was Ian's birthday and Tanya was invited by her sister Kim and Ian's best friend Andrew to join the party. A large group went out for dinner and drinks in San Francisco. The evening started at Umami Burger and ended at the bars on Polk Street. After sparks flew between them that night, the couple began to see each other every weekend despite living 2 hours apart, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

September 1st 2019

It was a beautiful Labor Day weekend and Ian, Tanya, and Kim decided to celebrate Andrew's 30th birthday at the Hower's cabin near Mt Lassen. Ian brought the ring and planned with Andrew to take the girls on a hike to a waterfall. The two couples drove into the national park and made their way to King's Creek Falls. The couples made it to the waterfall at the end of a beautiful hike. While Tanya was taking a photo of Andrew and Kim, Ian got down on one knee to propose. He was so nervous he forgot all he'd planned to say and eventually just asked her, "Are you ready to do this forever?" Tanya laughed hard and said "Duh!"
