Paint Rock Farm is a hemp farm located in Hot Springs, NC. 162 acres connected to the French Broad River with hiking trails that lead down to the water (so bring your bathing suit!) There is a 3,200-square-foot barn where we will be dining and dancing after the ceremony and (fingers crossed) the wedding will take place outside on the property. :) There are 6 river-perch cabins that sleep 2 people and 5 glamping cabins that sleep 4 people plus a tiny house. These accommodations have been paid for and will be offered to out-of-town guests and family first; however, they are glamping cabins which means that they do not have electricity and running water, so if you are not up for roughing it a little with memory foam mattresses we understand! We will be working on getting people who wish to stay on the premises down ASAP and there are also glamping tents that can be set up and rented the weekend of the wedding as well as a campsite that will accommodate 4 tents. Please keep in mind that people who are attending the wedding but are not staying on the premises must leave Paint Rock Farm at 10 pm. So if you'd like a more luxurious version of roughing it and wish to stay with us by the campfire at night under the stars we would love to have you (if you have been partaking in libations this is the safer option as well)! There is a nice, clean, communal bathhouse with radiant heated floors and plenty of indoor and outdoor hot showers. There is also a basic kitchen next to the barn where you can store food in the refrigerator and we will keep ice in the coolers. Wake up, drink your coffee, and sit in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the French Broad river before you explore the beautiful Appalachian mountains or the sweet town of Hot Springs. 1.) There is not great service at Paint Rock Farm. 2.) Check in to cabins is 4 pm Friday and checkout is promptly at 11 am Sunday - please leave your cabin in good order 3.) Paint Rock Farm does not allow single-use plastics - everything must be recycled or composted. If you are planning to cook in the kitchen, please be mindful about this rule and there are utensils and cook wear that can be used. You may want to bring a reusable water bottle as we can not have bottled water, etc.
1. Wedding guests who are not staying on the Paint Rock Rock Farm premises, unfortunately, have to disperse by 10 pm. We would love for you to stay on the premises (especially if you have been drinking). There are glamping cabins that will be offered to out-of-town guests and family first which we will be confirmed soon. There are also glamping tents and a campsite overlooking the river that is available to rent too and you will also have access to the barn, kitchen, and bathhouse. 2. Ian is a DJ and loves music so there will be a friend DJing our wedding until 10 pm, but then the music has to switch to acoustic due to noise ordinances. If you have an instrument to pick or a voice to sing with next to the fire after hours, bring it! 3. Paint Rock Farm does not allow single-use plastics. Food and utensils provided will be reusable kitchenware, reusable plastics, or compostable. Please don't let any plastic get in the trash. 4. Smoking is only allowed at the firepits. Butts must be disposed of in butt containers. ***Please note, guests staying on the premises after 10 pm who are not staying on the property, disobeying noise ordinances, not using reusable kitchenware and utensils, or evidence of cigs will result in Ian & Susannah forgoing their wedding deposit.***
Absolutely! We have Friday and Saturday nights booked for the 12 onsite glamping cabins (9/8-9/9/23). We have to clean up the premises and be out by noon on Sunday, but if you would like to come early or stay longer that's awesome! Hot Springs is a little-known destination place in Western North Carolina with plenty to experience. If you are coming in from out of town and would like to stay longer you can book a cabin at the farm for additional nights at https://www.paintrockfarm.com/glamping/.
There are 2 refrigerators and freezers, a gas range and oven, a big sink, a coffee maker, a blender, a toaster oven, spatulas, and spoons. There may even be a dishwasher by our wedding date!
