We met in Cedarburg High School's Team Sports gym class during Sarah's junior year and Ian's senior year. After Ian saw Sarah playing kickball and badminton, he knew she was the one. After dating through Ian's senior year, Ian and Sarah did a year of long distance when Ian left to start college at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. After a year of visiting each other, Sarah joined Ian in Minnesota when she began school at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Ian and Sarah had tons of fun and made great friends during their years in MN. When they both graduated in December of 2021, they moved home to Cedarburg, WI and have lived in Mequon together for over 3 years. Ian proposed to Sarah on October 21, 2023! Sarah had been planning Ian's 25th birthday party, but Ian was working with their friends and family to change the party decorations once they left for lunch a few hours before the party. What started as lunch with friends and a walk at Virmond Park in Mequon, turned into a proposal on the bluff, a surprise from Sarah's sister, and a surprise engagement party after! One of our favorite days ever, and we can't wait for an amazing wedding day!
