Where is the wedding?
Answer
Our wedding will take place at Secrets Akumal Resort in Akumal, Mexico. This beautiful, adults-only resort is the perfect backdrop for our celebration.

What's the weather like?
Answer
Expect warm, tropical weather with plenty of sunshine. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray, and a hat to keep cool.

What should I wear?

Our wedding will be elegant but beach-friendly. Think lightweight fabrics and semi-formal attire. Ladies, please do not wear white :) Resort's restaurants have a dress code: Evening dress code: -Men: Long pants are required for indoor and a la carte restaurants. Casual attire like Bermuda shorts may be permitted in outdoor areas. Sleeveless shirts are not allowed. -Women: A bathing suit wrap or cover-up is required for many dining venues. More casual outfits like dresses or nice shorts are generally acceptable Daytime dress code -Pools and casual areas: Swimsuits with cover-ups are acceptable. Flip-flops, shorts, and t-shirts are permitted. -General rule: Casual attire is fine for pools, beaches, and bars. For dinner, men should be prepared with at least one outfit that includes long pants.

What do we need to do prior to arriving?

Download WhatsApp for easy communication through Wi-Fi. Download the Hyatt Resorts app for resort information. If you plan to use iMessage while in Mexico, ensure that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi to avoid international charges. Please check with your mobile carrier to confirm if your plan supports international travel or if you need to activate an international plan. Some carriers may charge extra fees for data, calls, or messaging abroad.

When should I register/book?

The registration link is open NOW on the "Travel" tab. You can register and reserve your spot anytime between now and June 1st. Full payment is due by the end of August. If you'd like a payment plan, you can secure your spot with a $200 per person deposit.

When should we arrive?
Answer
This is a vacation for you just as much as it is our wedding. Feel free to arrive early, extend your stay, or even explore other parts of Mexico before or after the festivities. The only events we have planned for everyone are: Welcome Party: 12/13 evening Wedding and Reception: 12/14 *CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAILS ONCE THEY ARE FINALIZED* Sam and Ian will be at the resort from 12/11-12/17, so there’s plenty of time to relax and celebrate together. Please note there is a 3-night minimum stay requirement.

Is this an all inclusive resort?

What's the difference between preferred and non preferred?
Answer
The service is superb whether you are in preferred or not! The main differences are preferred has access to a separate breakfast place, bar, beach area, different alcohol stocked in the room, and location is closer to the beach.

How do I get to the resort?
Answer
We recommend flying into Cancún International Airport (CUN), which is about a 90-minute drive from the resort. Alternatively, you can consider flying into the Tulum International Airport, which may offer closer access about 30 minutes, as it opens new routes. Transportation from the airport to the resort is added through the registration process when booking your stay. We are aware there is only a shuttle option on the registration page from Cancun Airport. Shuttle is provided from Tulum as well. Please email our travel agent, Trudy, directly once you have booked your airfare. She is happy to accommodate. More details will be provided closer to the date.

Secrets Akumal is an adults-only resort, so we kindly ask that you make childcare arrangements during the trip.
