The Jersey Shore has always been a special place to Ian and Maya. From childhood summers to teenage years and now adulthood traditions, so many moments have taken place along these beaches — making the decision to get married here easy. As a Cape May local, Ian introduced Maya to the town when they first started dating, and she fell in love with the charming homes, cobblestone streets, and beautiful beaches. Ian began spending July weekends in Long Beach Island with Maya's family, a tradition she's had for years, further connecting their appreciation for "down the shore". Summer days, late nights, holidays and quiet fall weekends in Cape May at Michigan Ave with Ian's family, the boat house with the Henderers and more have become part of their routine. Any chance for sunshine, they head down, making it a perfect place to begin their next chapter together.

A Modern Day Love Story: Ian and Maya met on Instagram. Maya popped up as a suggested friend to Ian, despite having no mutual connections. And for the next few years, their lives ebbed and flowed separately — Ian in South Jersey and Maya in New York City — with the occasional message, story reply, and plenty of bad dates in between. In January of 2024, Ian decided to take a chance and ask Maya on a date. He invited her to a New York Rangers vs. Flyers game, knowing from years of watching her Instagram stories (and occasionally chirping in her DMs) that she was a hockey fan. They met in New York soon after, and the connection was instant. From that day on, Ian and Maya didn’t go a single day without talking — Thank you, Instagram.
