Getting there - the three main airports nearby are Key West International Airport, Miami International Airport, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Key West International Airport is about 50 miles from Marathon and offers flights from several major cities. It’s the closest option and allows for a shorter drive to Marathon. Miami International Airport, about 115 miles away, is a major hub with flights from all over the world. It offers more flight options and sometimes better fares. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is slightly further but often has lower airfares and a wide range of airlines.
After landing, you can rent a car or take a shuttle service to Marathon. The drive from Miami or Fort Lauderdale takes you along the Overseas Highway, so even if you fly, you still get to experience part of this scenic route. Some shuttle services offer door-to-door service, making it easy to reach your accommodation without hassle.
