Once upon a decade and a half ago, Iara was minding her own beeswax when a dashing man named Tim approached her at work. The details of his greeting should probably be left unsaid, but suffice to say he disarmed her with his less-than-appropriate humor and the two became fast friends. As time passed, Tim became Iara's confidant, listening to all her tragically hilarious relationship misfires. So when opportunity struck for him to introduce her to a far more superior specimen of a man- conveniently working in the same convention center- she willingly obliged. Little did she know just how shrewd a matching this would be... After the introduction at work, Iara and Ian went out a few times. Though it was clear they had instant chemistry; shared values; and had common interests, the most important element, good timing, wasn't quite there. Ian was well on his way to establishing a stellar career, successful adulthood, and killer abs, while Iara was well on her way to the path of most resistance to all of those aforementioned accomplishments. The two lost touch, never forgetting one another (and, admittedly, occasionally wondering "What if?") Fast forward many, many, MANY moons, many heartaches, and tons more maturity later (for both parties). Iara was approached by yet another mutual friend of the pair, Betsy, with news that Ian was back on the market. Again, the details of the exact phrasing of this information should probably be left unsaid, but it was clear the abs were still a factor... The two reunited in the very building in which they'd met, sparks flying brighter than before. But because Iara understood just how special Ian was, she took prayerful time to ensure her heart would be unguarded on this next attempt at happily ever after before reaching out to him several months later.
