Pizza is our love language, so it's only appropriate that we met in front of a pizzeria in Hoboken called Basile's. Gia was on her way back from a bar with one of her girlfriends and was walking downtown toward the train to head home. Ian was out and about in Hoboken with a group of his friends and wound up leaving the bar in search of a slice of pizza. They were heading down Washington Avenue and spotted Basile's. Ian told his friend to bang a u-ie and pull into a spot in front of the pizzeria. As they were parking, he had noticed a "stunning" (Ian's words, not Gia's) girl in a red dress and jumped out of the car. Gia was standing in front of the pizzeria and in that moment, Ian realized he had to act while he had the chance. He approached Gia and casually asked if she was going to grab a slice. They hit it off, talking about everything from their love for pizza to traveling. Soon after, they exchanged numbers -- but that's where the story divides. Gia recalls saving her number in Ian's phone as he had specifically asked her for her number. Ian's account is that Gia "grabbed" his phone and saved her number unannounced, without him having asked her for it. They met at Eataly the following Tuesday. Needless to say, Ian found his slice.
