Our Story (Ian)

We met February 26, 2025! (At least that’s what I thought was the date for the longest time.) Truth be told, I also couldn’t remember her birth year right for the first few months we were together either. (I even booked our first plane tickets together with the wrong year!) More on all that in a minute. For those of you reading who don’t know me, here’s a quick background. I currently serve in the US Air Force at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico. I come from a Military family myself through both my parents Jeff (24yrs US Navy) and Kyrstie (US Army Nurse). I grew up all over the states, including Hawaii, Florida, and Washington: the place I was born and spent the majority of my younger years. I joined in 2012 and spent the first stage of my career in South Georgia. It’s another place you could say I “grew up”. Many of the guests you’ll meet stem from this period. In 2022, I received orders and moved myself out to New Mexico. It wasn’t until the first year and a half of my time in the desert when Brooklynn literally…walked into my life. In 2024, I helped my good friend Jason Paulk open a Social Club and Poker Room “Gin Mill Card Club Farwell”. I spent a lot of time there helping grow a business and learn a little something of entrepreneurship…then on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21st, Brooklynn walked into the club. To be honest, that first night was so busy I didn’t pay her a whole lot of attention. However, enough conversation was had that an impression had been left on me. So much so, that when she went home with her BFF Jori (who was one of my dealers), I left Jori a message saying that I was definitely curious and interested in her. The next night was totally different. Again, we were at the club, except now we had hours to hang out and chat one-on-one and in a group. At one point she made a comment, and it impressed me so much. It was from that moment forward, I knew I wanted to know this woman more. The next night, on Sunday, she stopped by one last time that weekend before heading home. A 30min stop became 2hrs and it was clear a strong connection was forming. Before she left, I had one simple question that has defined our journey and relationship to this day. “What is it you want from this?” Her answer…“To be in love.” - I’ll never forget the look on her face when she said it, and all I could say was, “That’s good enough for me!” Little did we both know the life changing implications it would carry. I couldn’t be happier with the path it has led down for both myself as a man, and us together. Brooklynn has changed me fundamentally, and I am excited to share in this day with you as we celebrate not just us, but also this beautiful woman who has captured my heart and soul.

Our Story (Brooklynn)

We met February 21, 2025! ;) (not sure where he keeps getting the 26th) As some of you know, I was born in Clovis, NM, moved to Vega, TX in 2012, and lived there for the past 13 years. I’d occasionally make trips back to see my girls, and one evening after work, I was driving from Amarillo to Jori’s house in Clovis. She told me she’d be at a poker tournament in Farwell and gave me two options: meet her there or go to the house and wait. Anyone who knows me, knows I was very close to skipping social hour and going straight to the house. 2/21/25 - I thank God every single day that I didn’t, because I walked into that poker room and there was Ian. It wasn’t instant fireworks, but as we sat there, he was really the only one who would pause on occasion to ask me something about myself—where I’m from, what I do for work, etc. Later that night, after we got home, he slid up on a picture Jori had posted of us and said something along the lines of, “I’m crushing.” 2/22/25 - Saturday night, we went back to the club. Ian wasn’t as busy, and we finally got to sit down and talk. And talk we did…for hours. When Jori finally convinced me to leave (sorry Jo), Ian asked me for my number and we spent the rest of that night texting. 2/23/25 - Sunday, I was heading home, and Farwell just so happens to be on the way. I stopped by “briefly” and stayed much longer than planned, for good reason. We talked about all the things that matter: marriage, kids, goals, intentions. The kind of conversations people often avoid until much later. Neither of us wanted to waste our time, so we laid it all out from the start and decided this felt worth pursuing. 2/25/25 - That following Tuesday, we went on our first date. We met in Hereford, TX at Dakota’s Steakhouse after work (in my scrubs and all). We stayed there until they closed and decided we weren’t ready for the date to be over yet, so we headed across the street to Hereford Bar & Grill. 3/2/25 - That next weekend after we met, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. 3/16/25 - After dating for all of 2 weeks, Ian came to Vega for my nana’s birthday party and met my ENTIRE family all at once. Trial by fire…and he passed. 4/2/25 - Ian told me he loved me for the very first time. I remember just staring at him, suspended in disbelief for a long moment, and the first thing I could utter through the tears was, “Really?!” Once the initial shock wore off a little, I of course told him I loved him too. 4/30/25 - We flew to Virginia for Ian’s lovely Aunt Joelle’s wedding, and I finally got to meet his family. (Ask us about that journey) 1/17/2026 - WE GOT ENGAGED!! 🤍 A thousand little moments in-between didn’t make the milestone list, but they’re what made everything what it is. To the beginning of US!
