Question

Which airport should [I/we] arrange to arrive at?

Answer

The recommended airport to travel to is "Krabi International Airport" (airport code: KBV). This airport will put you within 1 hour of travel of the wedding venue. Alternatively, it is possible to fly to Phuket International Airport (airport code: HKV), but travelling from Phuket to Ao Nang gets a little bit trickier and is only recommended for those who are planning to visit Phuket or are feeling a bit more adventurous.

Question

Where should [I/we] stay before/during/after the wedding?

Answer

We have booked Tinidee Hideaway for the evenings of December 17th and 18th, and will check out on December 20th. Tinidee Tonsai Hideaway is a beautiful small resort with lodging capacity for 56 guests spread between 20 bungalows and 2 family rooms. The event capacity will allow for 100 of our friends and family to join us. While we wish we could extend a room to all, we will prioritize the occupancy of the on-venue Bungalows and Family Rooms for our beloved elderly and families. In the "Travel" tab of this website, we have provided a list of options for bungalows or hotels that we recommend in the Tonsai Bay area. We recommend these places specifically for the wedding because Tonsai Bay is secluded from the mainland, a boat ride away, and the nearby Railay Bay is a hike from the wedding venue. If we cannot reserve a bungalow at Tinidee for you, we recommend reserving from one of the alternatives in the "Travel" tab. Before and after the wedding, let your fingers do the walking and follow the whimsy of your heart!

Question

Can we meet up for an adventure after the wedding?

Answer

After the wedding, Ae and Ian will likely be staying at the Dream Valley Resort and in the area through the New Year. We would love to enjoy a few adventures in the region with friends and family, and we will be leaving December 23rd through December 29th open for adventures with friends and family. New years eve in Tonsai is a very special event - fireworks from Railay light up the bay while the boom and sizzle reverberate into the limestone karsts. If you're still around the area, we'd love for you to join us and celebrate the start of 2027 - and our first NYE as Mr. & Mrs. - at Freedom Bar in Tonsai.

Question

[International Guests] What should I do about my passport and do I need a visa? What about medical considerations - prescriptions, vaccines, and insurance?

Answer

[Since most international guests will be coming from the US, these answers are primarily addressing that audience, but the same concepts apply to most nationalities. Please adjust accordingly.] PASSPORT: Make sure you have a passport, that it is currently valid, and that it will remain valid for more than 6 months past your estimated return flight. ARRIVAL: You will need to fill out a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before or during your arrival. Do this before you get to the immigration agent: https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/tdac-thailand-digital-arrival-card VISA: I have heard rumblings about the visa exemption being reduced to 30 days, so be aware of the dates on your stamp! Thailand provides a visa exemption to 93 countries for the purpose of tourism, which allows for a 60-day stay (https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/thai-visa-exemption-and-bilateral-agreement). This is the criteria for entry provided under the visa exemption: - Hold citizenship from an approved country - Hold a passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining - Pledge to enter Thailand strictly for tourism purposes - Provide verifiable proof of accommodation in Thailand, such as a hotel or an apartment address - Provide proof of funds to support their stay (minimum 10,000 THB for single travelers and 20,000 THB per family) - Provide proof of a return ticket for exiting Thailand (open tickets do not qualify, and the ticket’s destination cannot be a neighboring country of Thailand) PRESCRIPTIONS: Don't assume your international prescription is legal in Thailand. Here's how to check and important details to consider: https://washingtondc.thaiembassy.org/en/page/heath-requirement VACCINES: Talk to your doctor. The CDC has a long list of things to consider specifically for Thailand here: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/Thailand INSURANCE: If you have insurance, check whether you're covered for temporary international travel.
