We met at Wheaton College in 2022 during graduate school in our marriage and family therapy cohort. We became fast friends in the first semester as we helped each other out with clinical progress notes and witnessed each other do therapy for the first time via live cam on Wednesday nights for school in our treatment team (terrifying to do therapy for the first time in general, and even more terrifying in front of your crush). Soon after, we started hanging out with a group of friends from the cohort for game and movie nights. A few months later, we coincidentally picked the same internship site to work at for the next year until graduation. After hours of car rides and carpooling, debriefs between sessions, walks around Sycamore during our work breaks, coffee breaks during class, and finishing crossword puzzles just for fun, it was hard not to acknowledge that the connection between us wasn't just friendship.
