We're getting married!

We met at Cornell University when we were both PhD students studying biochemistry. The first time we spoke to each other was about as un-romantic as it can get: Ian was giving a seminar about his research, and I asked a question about one of the technical details he presented. We didn't start dating until a year or so later, when cupid's arrow struck, we both swiped right, and matched on Tinder! Who says romance is dead?

We invited both sets of our parents to visit us in Ithaca for the weekend for an early Thanksgiving dinner. As we all sat down to dig into our delicious turkey, Ian got down on one knee and popped the question. It was incredibly special to have the people we love most there for our engagement. He even managed to make all four of our parents cry!
