Nate and I were not the "meet once and instantly fall in love" type- in fact it took 3 times of us meeting each other over 3 years, 2 hangouts of us not really talking to each other, and 1 time of him driving me home for us to get it. I once even opened the door & threatened him to have my best friend home on time as they were about to head out on their date & thought nothing of it. Was he cute? Definitely! Did he have horrible fashion taste? Definitely! However, all it did take was just one genuine conversation that went on well past our bedtime & I had instantly realized that our souls were meant to know each other. Talking with Iailey felt like talking to family. Someone who had known me my whole life. Once we started, we never stopped. We became inseparable for the following months of our Junior year of high school. Iailey even decided to become my girlfriend after my first date idea was going to Black Bear Diner, scarfing down french toast for dinner, & illegally hitting golf balls in the middle of the night on a private golf course. Our first year of dating consisted of night swimming at saguaro, hiking to the top of every mountain Nate pointed at, entering into senior year together, dances, and a lot of late night talks. All I knew at the time was that I simply could not ever get enough time with him & that to me, he was the safest place in the whole world. But senior year was ending & we were both trying to figure out ourselves & what the future would look like. I'll let Nate tell this part because we all know he loves to rub it in my face. Thats right. She decided she was going to try life without me for a few months as we headed into college. Needless to say, it didn't work out for her. Our breakup just amplified our love for each other even though we had no contact during it. We started dating again our freshmen year of college at ASU after smacking into each other (literally) on campus & then going to get lunch to catch up. After that I think we both knew that we no longer wanted to live a day with out each other. Life got crazy during COVID but while some hated being quarantined, I couldn't have been happier spending all our time together. I fell deeper in love every day & I started not only seeing our life together but planning it. We got our first apartment together in 2022 & had our first child, Zuzu. From then on life has been a series of getting our sh!t together & becoming the adults we've always dreamed of while at the same time keeping those kids who fell in love very much so alive. After graduating college & living in our first apartment for two years we decided to move back closer to Gilbert. Nate took his first big boy job while I left my first big girl job to teach pilates (slay on my end). Then on October 7th, 2024 after Nate ran his first marathon, Nate proposed to me at Torrey Pines, CA & got all our loved ones out to be there. I have tried multiple times to put into words how special this moment was but I have always failed. As if being engaged & planning a wedding wasn't enough adventure, we decided to move to St. Petersburg, FL. We took new job opportunity's & the chance for sunsets at the beach on a any given Tuesday. We sold everything we owned & I drove all the way from AZ to FL, three weeks later I picked Iailey up from the airport. As soon as she arrived to our new apartment it became a home. And then we did the thing! We always knew before our wedding day that we wanted the day we actually got married to be just us two. On May 4th, 2025 we had our local pastor marry us in a church downtown. That weekend we spent doing all our favorite things & celebrating the last 7 years that had got us there. This is another event I will never be able to put into words properly, but truly changed us both forever. And now here we are, beyond ready to celebrate our story with you all who got us here and to give our personal vows after doing our first year of marriage together. See you in ID!
