We first met freshman year when we shared an engineering career seminar. Someone who sat in the back of the auditorium had a particularly hard time paying attention to the weekly presenter because he was busy staring at a beautiful girl who sat three rows in front of him. Connected through a mutual acquaintance, we began chatting. A natural wordsmith, my opening line over text was “hey”, but it worked and she soon found herself sitting across from me at a Buffalo Wild Wings (fine dining). After a couple of awkward dates and a summer spent apart, we began to spend more time together. The next year we merged our friend groups and shared many memories over the course of our time at the University of Iowa. After school we took a chance and moved to Denver. These past few years we've had many adventures as we’ve started our life together. We've started our careers, met friends and have tried to live life to the fullest. These days we love to spend our time going to concerts, camping, playing volleyball with friends, and doing Denver things. We taught ourselves how to ski, and if our relationship can withstand that stress, I have a good feeling about our future together! I proposed on a September Friday night. We went out for dinner then walked through a local park where I popped the question. After, we drove up to a cabin in the mountains I had secretly booked where we spent the weekend together. We are so excited to tie the knot and see where the future will take us!
