Adam and Grace were born and raised in Birmingham, AL. They both homeschooled and had several mutual friends but did not have a clue as to who the other was until after college. Adam attended Excelsior co-op and played football through high school. After graduating from Evangel Christian School, Adam went to the University of Alabama in Birmingham and majored in Kinesiology. During those college years, he built a community of friends through his involvement in RUF, and grew in tremendous ways while working at a ministry called Adventure Serve in Kentucky one summer. After graduating from UAB in 2021, Adam went to work as a PT tech at Spain Rehab. It was during that season of his life that he met Grace. Grace was involved in many different co-ops around Birmingham growing up and also spent a significant amount of her time dancing at Briarwood Ballet. Grace moved to Jackson, MS after graduating from Hope Christian School. She attended Belhaven University and gained her BA in Dance. During college, Grace also minored in Global and Biblical Studies and got to travel internationally and work at Ridge Haven Camp during her summers. Like Adam, she also enjoyed RUF and built a strong community while at school. Grace graduated in 2022, and that summer she met Adam. They met at a mutual friend's party and went to the World Games in Birmingham together the next day. Grace began going to Adam's fireside Bible study group and she also began frequenting the climbing gym in hopes of seeing him. After a few short weeks, Grace moved to Chattanooga, TN to begin her Fellows Program. Their initial resolve to "just be friends" quickly turned into a long distance relationship. Only a few weeks into their relationship Adam broke his collarbone during an accident and began a hard journey of recovery. Four months later Grace ended things with Adam in hopes of them both becoming more healthy and present in their individual lives. Adam did indeed become healthier and got a job moving furniture, and Grace was able to finish her Fellows Year well. Along the way, Adam slowly reentered Grace's life, and they officially got back together the day after she graduated from the Fellows. Four months later Adam moved his whole life up to Chattanooga to be with Grace. Grace connected him with a local moving company where he began working, and Grace started at Skillern Elementary and Ballet Esprit. After a couple months of pre-engagement counseling (and a couple of thwarted proposal attempts), Adam finally popped the question on April 20, 2024! After the wedding, they plan on staying in Chattanooga to continue investing in their work, their church, and their community. Thank you for being a part of the community that helped to support us both during all the pains and joys of our relationship. You guys mean so much to us, and we are excited to celebrate our marriage with you all!
