Wedding Party

Meet the crew, our ride-or-dies, our day 0s. They make us cooler than we actually are!

Rachelle Rosete

Maid of Honor

BFF of the bride. I have known Rachelle for 25 years of my life, and I am 26 years old. We grew up together in church and have not separated since! She is quite beyond a life sister. When together, you can catch us braindumping on each other, covering mid-2000s songs with a guitar on a backyard porch, or ordering peach milkshakes at Chick-Fil-A.

Joshua Lee

Best Man

The Best Man of the Groom! Brother from another mother dubbing double trouble but a tougher lover and one of the rougher smothers in terms of other-worldly covering of others.

Melissa Salamat

Bridesmaid

Sister of the bride! To me, she goes by the filipino word for older sister, "Ate" (AH-teh). I think I've called her Melissa less than 5 times in my life. Known for her top-tier culinary baking skills and world-renowned leche flan, she is my favorite creative person. We bond through snagging last-minute Broadway tix, boba runs, and sourcing our home cabinets for viable brownie mix ingredients.

Jared Jordan

Groomsman

A brother friend of the Groom. Jared was the first person who told me about the Lord Jesus and forever impacted my life. His charisma, talents, and humor are to be admired. One of the greatest joys in my life was seeing him get married to his now wife - Hillary. My favorite memory of Jared is when he asked me what my favorite bible verse was (thinking that he needed some encouragement or something humble like that) and then got it tatted on him the next week because he was running out of ink ideas.

Rhys Silva

Bridesmaid

Rhys sat behind me on the first day of high school. Quite frankly, because of her, I am a survivor of freshman year geometry. I grew to appreciate her daily poking during class, and indulged her updates on the latest of Attack on Titan and Sherlock (Martin Freeman, more specifically). Our friendship grew throughout high school and college, and is fast approaching the 13-year mark! We laugh over bean and Kirby memes.

Malek Maddah

Groomsman

A homie friend of the Groom. Malek is the friend that you love to brag about. A conversationalist that will take your ideas and emotions seriously, and will remind you to care for them. No matter how busy he gets on his quest of excellence and to save lives, I can always depend on him. I long to see him fulfill his dreams and for his noble heart to be satisfied. He’s also 6’4 and does not know how to play basketball without fouling.

Taisha Brutus

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride! In 2014, one of Taisha's first words to me were "I'm not letting you get away." For context, she was trying to recruit me for a dance group with her friends and wouldn't let me escape her clutches without giving her my phone number. Almost 10 years later - she no longer has to try! I am now the one blowing up her phone with random texts and voice memos asking her if she's down to film High School Musical tiktoks and talk high yield savings accounts after downing virgin pina coladas.

Jonathan Franks

Groomsman

A comrade friend of the Groom. Jon has a special place in my heart for all the big and minute life moments we've shared together. Jon and I can be the only two in the room laughing at some dumb joke while everyone else just fails to connect. We have an endless void of insiders, competitions of throwing compliments at each other, and conversations that grow our faith. I've had the honor of seeing Jon grow into an upstanding young man and I am so proud to be considered a friend of his. I cannot wait to see him get married to his Fiancé, Sophie. My favorite memory of Jon is meeting him for the first time and thinking that he was a 39-year-old college student fresh out of jail paying child support to multiple mothers.

Medji Mimy

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride! Medji was also a part of this scheme with Taisha to ask me to join their dance group. I would honestly trust my life in Medji's hands. She is and has always been a mom in the group - one that is responsible, organized, and ambitious. She's got the funniest reactions and best comebacks in group chats. One of my fave memories of her is when she was able to freestyle a rap about ring pops. She's a witty one.

Daniel Nguyen

Groomsman

A lifetime friend of the Groom. I’ve known Daniel for more than half of my life. Every milestone that I’ve encountered in our friendship, there is always something more that follows. It is so fascinating to see Daniel desire ideals, and then watch a master at work to achieve it. He is passionate, caring, stupid, and so easy to root for. When I get to sit in a rocking chair next to this brother watching our kids play - that is when I’ll know we’ve made it. Daniel is a mouth breather.

Jillian Douce

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride! The third amiga in this dance group, Jillian is our pop-lock-and-drop it nurse + care taker of these gal pals. She was the first to speak to me out of the three, cornering me in our college's dark auditorium during rehearsals. She has the best laugh. It sounds like a tea kettle heating water right at its peak, when it's about to reach its boiling point. Jillian is sunshine and is a joy to be around, except when she's trying to swim (she can't swim yet).

Joshua Bae

Groomsman

An everyday friend of the Groom. Josh feels like someone I should've met a long time ago. He is a top 1 person to have a meal with. No matter what's on your mind, Josh wants to pick your brain about any and everything. His care for nuances, eccentricity, and storytelling is fascinating. I comfortably come to Josh with foolish ideas and life adventures - and he is considerate of all of them without question. My favorite observation of Josh Bae is his superb singing voice - a baritone rich in timbre with solid tenor highs and bass undertones. His voice reminds me of melted chocolate.

Jillian Maniago

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride! I met Jill through Huy's best man Josh, back in 2019. We first bonded over our love for the YouTubers ToThe9s, gushing over their duo + Filipina dynamic and their video editing style over a meal of K-BBQ. Soon to find out, that sometimes we share the same brain. I've never met someone who shares the same natural tendencies to vlog and document life as I do, and I cherish our conversations about the best ways to transfer files from our 64gb phones when it runs out of cloud storage. Jill is known for cooking and wearing (follow her @jillcooksthings/wearsthings) and is an undeniable diligent and creative force. You can catch us vlogging eats at Appa's Pizza, reading Jonathan Pokluda's books, or planning out a time for Huy and Josh (cough *us*) to hang out.

Kyle Chin

Groomsman

A roommate friend of the Groom. Kyle and I share such sweet and fond memories in this timeline. Living with him during college gave me perspective on companionship, brotherhood, and bad diets. I genuinely loved doing everything with Kyle for as long as I've known him. As long as he is at the function, my life feels that much more fulfilling and enjoyable. I cannot imagine my life without him, he is simply an irreplaceable brother. My favorite observation of Kyle is his diet consisting of donuts & coffee somehow sustaining his -4% body fat percentage.

Rebecca Kim

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride! Rebecca and I met back in 2019, and heard of my existence through the NJCF grapevine of Huy supposedly hanging out with his "mom" quite often. There's this one moment I distinctly remember with Rebecca. I had arrived to one of VOH's Christmas concerts, already halfway through, and everyone was seated. Except for Rebecca. She was standing behind the crowd, in the middle of the expansive hallway. I knew her by face and name, but weren't well acquainted yet. In order to walk in and find a seat, I was approaching her direction in order to pass by. At that moment, she turned around and we made eye contact and she gasps. "OMG HIIIIII!" I've grown to find that this is a very typical Rebecca greeting. She hugged me and said "YEAH, I know who you are!" and I think that's pretty decent summary of her exciting character. You can catch us often meeting halfway in the city to grab Thai food, venting on the phone, or sharing stories about what happened last in each other's classrooms.

Dylan Liu

Groomsman

A confidant friend of the Groom. Dylan (somehow) feels like your favorite grandpa and favorite cousin in the family at the same time. He has quite literally seen me grow up - from a lousy teenager into a slightly less lousy young adult. I will never be able to put into words his impact on my coming of age. I've been so blessed with countless words of wisdom, mentorship, and vile jokes from Dylan. He is truly someone I look up to. I witnessed Dylan lick gum under a table for $5 and that changed my life forever.
