Yes! Jungle Jim's is a Cincinnati staple and we can't wait for you to see it! It's got more than 200,000 square feet of shipping space and 180,000 products and is visited by 82,000 shoppers each week. Want to try alligator jerky? Jungle's has it. Interested in finding your favorite treat from a study abroad trip? Jungle's has it. Feel free to head early to the venue and check it out - and with a bar, you can kick start the party early!
Oscar Event Center is in the upstairs of Jungle Jim's - you'll enter in the door way between the Hallmark Sign and the Rhino entrance. While there is parking right outside the entrance - please park in the lot that's just southeast of the Rhino Entrance Lot called Oscar Event Center parking - it's only a 3 minute walk to the doors. This is camera protected and you can leave your car here overnight if you decide to Uber home. Our ceremony and reception will be in the same spot so feel free to park and buckle in for the night. Go up that gorgeous staircase (make sure to check out the awesome chandelier!) or if you need an elevator, please know that the venue is fully accessible. There's a small outdoor patio if you need a bit of fresh air and we invite you to use the chairs and couches if you'd like to catch up with friends and family throughout the evening.
Our doors will open at 4:45 PM and our ceremony will start promptly at 5:30. Please give yourself time to park and find a seat. While we recognize Cincinnati traffic can be hectic, to ensure a seamless start to our celebration late arrivals may not be able to join the ceremony.
Yes! We'll include shuttle information in our welcome bags.
On Thursday night, Mel's girlfriends from Colorado are hosting an event at Voodoo Brew Pub in West Chester (https://westchester.voodoobrewery.com/). Enjoy a beer, some food and trivia that starts at 7:00 PM. We'll get there around 6:30 PM. No need to RSVP but if you think you want to pop by, you can always text or email Mel and we'll keep an eye out for you. On Friday, our wedding party will be having a rehearsal and a private dinner. However, the hotels are close to the finest of suburban food - Buffalo Wild Wings! Mel's called them to let them know we plan on heading there after rehearsal dinner (around 9:15/9:30 PM) to celebrate with guests who may have flown in late Thursday or Friday. Feel free to pop in early and get dinner with your crew or come in later if you decide to go out to eat after a day of adventures. I imagine we'll be hanging till about 11:30 or 12:00—it's an early day the next day!
Eric and Mel are not incredibly formal people and we want you to be comfortable for our indoor wedding so feel free to wear what makes you feel best. If you stick in the cocktail/smart casual area, you'll be great! March in southwest Ohio can be unpredictable so if you're traveling in, make sure to check the weather and pack a jacket if you'd like.
Kindly RSVP by February 26. You can either mail in your RSVP or click the link in the header to do it online.
We're having a yummy buffet as our meal option but to make sure you get a delicious meal, either email melhuss@gmail.com or you can add it in your RSVP online. Jungle Jim's takes dietary restrictions and preferences very seriously, so please let us know. We want you fed and happy!
