Meet us in St. Louis!

It all started at Busch Stadium. Amanda and Zac first met while working for the St. Louis Cardinals — in fact, they even interviewed for their jobs together! Amanda still works for the Cardinals, while Zac has since joined the St. Louis Battlehawks, but sports will always be at the heart of their story. Their first date was at a cozy Italian restaurant in downtown St. Louis, which has since burned down (but it will forever hold a special place in their hearts). That night ended with their first kiss in the Busch Stadium parking lot — the perfect beginning for two people who love the ballpark. Over the years, their bond has grown through their competitive spirits, shared love for family, and countless adventures together. They love being an aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephews, and some of their favorite memories include traveling to Denver, Chicago, and cheering on their favorite teams. On New Year’s Eve in Denver, as the clock struck midnight, Zac told Amanda he loved her for the very first time — and she said it right back. It seems fate had a hand in bringing them together. Before they even started dating, they discovered their parents share the exact same wedding anniversary (same date, same year!) along with several overlapping family birthdays. As Zac likes to joke, though, he really knew Amanda was the one when he saw her crush the batting cages in high heel boots. The proposal was a sweet and romantic surprise. Zac planned one of his “mystery dates,” which wasn’t unusual for the couple, so Amanda didn’t think much of it. After lunch (Italian, of course), Zac took her to Chandler Hill Winery on a perfect fall Sunday. They sat outside with live music playing in the background, and when Brown Eyed Girl — a song Amanda always imagined including in their wedding — came on, she had no idea what was about to happen next. A few minutes later, Amanda suggested they walk around for pictures. As they turned the corner, there was a beautiful setup waiting with flowers, champagne, and blankets. Zac got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife — and, of course, she said yes!
