We had both started working at sales company at the end of 2019 where we met for the first time, we sat across from each other in the office and I always thought he was super cute. One day I went out to my car for my lunch break, and Ryan followed me out a few moments later and opened the side door of my car and says, “Where are we going for lunch?” as he got into the passenger seat. I said the only acceptable answer, “Taco Bell,” and he goes, “cool.” We had lunch every day together after that, and the rest is history!
Ryan asked me to officially be his girlfriend on February 20, 2020 after our first “official” date at Lemongrass Cafe. Shortly after, we both got laid off from our sales job in March of 2020 due to COVID when the world shut down…we were a fresh one month into dating. Luckily we both really seemed to like each other and didn’t mind spending all of our time cooped up in our small one bedroom apartments, we lived less than a mile away from each other in downtown Moline, which made it pretty convenient to see each other during the pandemic. We survived lockdown together, both got new jobs and eventually moved in together in May of 2021.
Just another manic Monday, I come home from work, Ryan asks me to go out on a dinner date, I say no since I want to change into my pajamas and relax after a long day. Ryan says he’ll make me dinner, and makes pasta with garlic bread. After we finish eating he tells me he has a surprise for me and to close my eyes. When he tells me to, I open them and see the love of my life down on one knee in our dining room with the most beautiful ring. It was perfect in every way possible and a moment we’ll cherish forever.
