On June 17 2021, Emily had made plans to go out to dinner with some of her best friends who were in town from all over the country. Little did she know Matt had planned a surprise engagement and soon those dinner plans would be cancelled. When Emily got home from work that Thursday, Matt asked if she would like to go to a local rooftop bar, Vin De Set, for a quick drink with some of his friends before her scheduled dinner plans. Clueless to his plans and with Vin De Set being one of Emily's favorite spots in town, she quickly agreed. Shortly after arriving at the happy hour location, Matt got down on one knee and surprised Emily by asking "Will you marry me?" After she said yes, both Emily and Matt's families joined who had been watching the action from afar. Finally, one last surprise, some of Emily and Matt's closest friends joined and they celebrated the night away!
