"Oh that Bryan, he's so hot right now!" I laughed off my friend/coworker's comment in 2015 - I barely knew Bryan, and wasn't particularly noticing him. We met through small group at our church, EBF, five years ago. Though we'd been acquainted since the spring of 2013, we didn't know each other well. Bryan supported me (Cristina) as a missionary in Chicago with ICI and volunteered at various events as needed, but outside of that we had no interaction. Summer 2016 rolls around, camp starts up again, Bryan returns as a counselor, and suddenly my Jr. High students become expert matchmakers. On day One they ask me what I think of Bryan. By day Two, 40 kids are ceaselessly chanting "Fresh Fresh Bryan and Cristina!" ("Fresh Bryan" was a nickname to distinguish him from "Bearded Brian"). A week after camp ended, I messaged Bryan in my professional role as Jr. High Coordinator. "Hey Bryan, did you get a chance to fill out the camper evaluations?" He offered to email them. Or get dinner. "It's not a date!" I told a high school girl and friend, who was always eager to match-make me. "It's professional - it's about camp!" We got sushi. I twisted my hands nervously, felt butterflies, laughed. We talked for 2 hours, staying 40 minutes after the check came. It felt like a date. A month, several ICI events, and a few third-wheel accompanied dates later, we started "talking." Then made it official. So if you make it to the wedding, we would love for you to join with ICI in cheering us down the aisle after the ceremony - "Fresh Fresh Bryan and Cristina!"
